Factional acting president of the Nigeria football federation(NFF) Mike
Umeh has cried out for safety alleging his life is under threat from
forces who want to ruin Nigerian football.
“They have threatened my life because I did what I know is right,” he said in Abuja
Umeh has refused to allow Alhaji Aminu Maigari return back to his role as president insisting his former boss resigned from his post after the board provisionally dismissed him.
He confirmed has reported Alhaji Aminu Maigari and the quartet of NFF secretary Musa Ahmadu,Christopher Green,Emeka Inyama and Yusuf Ahmed Fresh to the FCT Police command over the fire incident that occurred at the NFF secretariat on Wednesday.
“Nigerians deserve an explanation for the fire that occurred on Wednesday and we cannot all sit back and watch as evil get root in our football,” he added.
Prior to reporting the issue to the Police command in Abuja,Umeh accused Maigari and Musa Amadu of knowing a thing or two about the fire incident that started from the office of Amadu before reaching the accountants office.
The inferno occurred 48 hours after Maigari was returned as NFF president making Umeh alleged that documents needed to prove Maigari's financial recklessness was the reason why Maigari and Co set the glass house of the NFF on fire.
